Camping Cooking Supplies And Choosing Them Right

Oh camping, the smell of fresh dew on the ground, no buildings blocking your incredible view of mother nature. This can be shared with yourself, a couple friends, or a large group or family. It is a great activity that can be shared with people young and old. But some say the best part about camping is the food, and who can blame them? Yes, camping and cooking outdoors is a whole new ball game than the one that you play in your home. It is a different set of everything, rules, equipment and likewise. But some example supplies used for camping are Dutch ovens, cast iron skillets, griddles, portable stoves, aluminum foil, tin cans, and even cardboard boxes!

Camping cooking supplies can include anything and everything. And when you are thinking about the supplies one would need for cooking outdoors, you’ve got to think about a few things. And the most important is, How much do you honestly want to carry around? If you are a trailer camper, then you don’t really care, because you just load everything and drive. But if you are one of those macho people that carry everything on their back, backpackers, then you should take the time and select your camping cooking supplies the right way and it will be worth it in the end.

How do you cook at camp? With some sort of heat source right? There are a few options to select for your choice of heat. Those options are campfire, charcoal, and gas/propane. There are a couple good things and a couple bad things with each option obviously but this is when your camping cooking supplies come into play. You wouldn’t want to use a Dutch oven when your heat source is propane right? Because the purpose of the Dutch oven is lost when you do that.

Companies over the decades have perfected the camping equipment that we all know and love. They can make it fit inside itself, or put it into a stuff sack, or even make it only a few pounds. Amazing what some ingenuity can do right? If you are a heavy duty backpacker you will need to pay close attention to every ounce you are willing to put on your back.

Utensils, untensils, utensils! What a novel idea! Something that helps you cook that infamous chili that everyone loves and craves. A great example of the common utensil is the wooden spoon. It will last for ages and ages, doesn’t transfer heat, and they are surprisingly difficult to break.

You will also need to consider your options on how you will eat such a feast as chili. You can use regular bowls and such or the new squishy bowls that have recently become popular. You will also need a spoon to eat those delicious meals that you make with your camping cooking supplies. Try considering a spork, a spoon and a fork built into one nifty little device.

And how can you forget about the past time of the century when relating to camping? Roasting marshmallows and making smores! Just get several marshmallow roasting sticks and a few Hershey Candy bars and get to work. You will have a great time talking about the old days and sharing stories with your group of friends.

The final decision on your camping cooking supplies is ultimately up to you. The responsibility that comes with this is sometimes astronomical; because you can be really irritable the whole camping trip and no one will like you. But try to pick the right things and be welcomed in loving arms to the World of Camping.
