Principles To Teach To Our Youth

Published by at 12:36 pm under Uncategorized

The direction that our youth are going in is a worry to many; these are, after all, the future of our country. A lot of essential values seem to be overlooked these days and parents need to do what they can to get them back on the right track.

If you do everything for your kid they will grow up to think that’s the way that life is and they will vastly underachieve. You only get out of life what you put into it and they need to get it through their heads that commitment, hard work and consistency goes a long, long way.

We have a diverse society with many places of interest, and our kids need to be taken to these places and experience different things. Experiencing things outside of their comfort zone breeds wisdom and understanding and produces well rounded adults.

Many of us remember the days when the whole family sat down to dinner together and discussed their day. With broken marriages and single, working families a lot of the old family values have gone down the pan. We need to try and get this back, and the first step is to ensure that elders get respect and that responsibility also brings rewards.

Cut down on the media that overwhelms your kids. There is little substance to it and quite frankly they aren’t gaining much from sitting in front of a TV.

Young minds are like a sponge and absorb information at an alarming rate, but when that info all comes from the trash on TV we should be very worried. When they start to think that the program is reality we have a real problem. This is a major issue that needs addressing as soon as we possibly can.

Get your kids out in the fresh air to take part in some activities away from their gaming console. This and other pastimes have become a way of life for some kids to the point of obsession. Gaming, like everything else should be monitored and kept to a minimum.

There are so many extra curricular activities available for kids but they need to be encouraged to join on. See if you can get them interested in sports or a hobby and see what clubs their school has after hours. The more wholesome the pastime the better values our kids will learn.

The writer also regularly contributes articles on subject like LCD TV brackets and black floating wall shelves.
