Reducing Arm Flab With Bottled Energy

Published by Katherine Crawford M.S. at 5:39 am under Food & Beverage

Energy drinks pack a powerful punch and they can help you get through the dieting lows when trying to get toned arms. However, chronic consumption of said drinks has its consequences.

Unfortunately, energy drinks are extremely seductive. They can curb hunger when you’re trying to lose weight, they can help you overcome a massive sleep debt and they can put you in a good mood.

Nonetheless, here is the downside of energy drinks for getting toned arms:

1. Worsened digestion. Caffeine, the main ingredient in energy drinks, can wreak havoc on your digestive system. When taking in excess, it can compromise your digestive lining.

2. Sleep debt masking. Just because the caffeine in the energy drink keeps you awake and alert, doesn’t mean that you’ve reduced your sleep debt. And a massive sleep debt will make getting rid of arm flab that much harder. Not only will you produce less fat burning hormones, but simple tasks like assembling a healthy meal will seem much harder than it actually is.

3. More midnight awakenings. Surprisingly, even the best of sleepers wake up at least 10 times every night. And they don’t remember a thing. Having lots of caffeine during the day can increase your frequency of awakenings, decrease sleep quality and you wouldn’t even be aware of it.

4. Increased stress. Energy drinks stimulate your adrenal glands to release epinephrine, dopamine and norepinephrine. All of which give you a tremendous surge of energy. Over time, the constant bombarding of your adrenal system can accelerate aging.

5. Low grade dehydration. Caffeine can mask many things. In this case, it can simultaneously mask and increase dehydration. Not a good combination for getting rid of arm flab. After all, hydration does effect metabolism and recovery from workouts. Moreover, it has a strong effect on your mood.

Now energy drinks don’t have to be avoided at all times. It’s ok to have one every once in a while. Just make sure you aren’t chronically addicted to them. This is when you can run into some trouble. Moreover, if you really want to get rid of arm flab, loose leaf teas would be a much better option here.
