Three Methods Of Cooking A Steak

If you are steak-lover then you know just how you like it prepared. While there are those who prefer their steak rare others prefer theirs well done. There’s always the compromise of medium rare, which isn’t much of a compromise in my opinion. Rare steak is usually very pink and still pretty raw. If it is medium rare the steak will have a fully red color inside usually cooked at about 130 F. Well done steaks are cooked at about 160 F making the meat appear gray-brown throughout. Sometimes it looks slightly charred but it helps reduce people’s concerns about disease. Shorter cooking times retain more juice, and longer steak cooking times give you a drier tougher meat.
