Once upon a time, it was customary to give out so-called ‘gourmet food’ gift baskets. Remember the cheese log, covered in sliced nuts? Those little cheese wheels that came in a red wax covering? Or how about even the processed sausages?Or my all-time favorite, the pre-processed sausages. These gift baskets were common during the holidays, anniversaries, birthdays, anytime that someone wanted to show how much they cared about someone. Naturally, they were never very popular. Who wants a gift made of cheese and sausages? And besides, they were almost always last minute gifts anyway.
