With more and more horror stories emerging about what is done to our food before it reaches the plate, it’s no wonder that more and more of us are turning to organic food. This should be entirely natural with nothing added and we can eat it without giving it a second thought.
Although there are no complaints about how organic vegetables are grown and harvested, the meat side of it is decidedly dodgy.
One of the greyest areas concerns wild fish. If it is wild, the USDA says you can sell it as organic, yet there is still a very high chance that it may contain mercury and other chemicals.

So what can we, as the consumers, do about it? Well overall, organic is a better choice than non organic. There are better options however. You can look for meat that has labels on saying it has been approved by the RSPCA and other such bodies which have thoroughly checked out the welfare of the animals prior to slaughter.
There are two blatant changes that need to me made immediately. Grey area such as the fish carry on need sorting out and proper regulations put in place. Secondly, there need s to be proper directive released so that we are all clear exactly what the term organic means, and this well greatly affect what we buy.
